Federal Coffee Layout
This project was two two-page magazine layouts for a Terre Haute local business. I chose Federal Coffee and Fine Foods on Wabash Ave. One layout focused on using an image within text while the other focused on using text within an image. Both projects were done in a minimalist style and adhere to minimalist principles.

The first layout uses an image within text. I chose to use the text "Federal Coffee," the shortened version of the business name. In the word "Federal," I used an image of the umbrellas that are a part of the outdoor tables outside of the cafe. These umbrellas are one of the first things you see when you see the cafe so I thought that they would be an easily identifiable image that represents the business. In the word "Coffee" I used an image of a close up detail of two ice coffee beverages, highlighting one of the products that they sell at Federal Coffee.

The second layout uses text within an image. I chose the text "Eat Local" weaved in to an image of two of their ice coffee beverages with their logo on the cup on top of the bar that is a popular seating area at the cafe in front of the windows. I felt that this image gave the reader an idea of what they would see when they go to eat or drink in the cafe and the words "Eat Local" give them the idea that they are supporting a local business when they patronize Federal Coffee.
